Who We Are

Welcome to Africa Missions.

Our History

In 1996, when the wife of the General overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye visited some communities in West Africa, her findings became a burden for a charitable intervention to address the needs of the communities and settlements that she had visited. This led to the birth of An Africa Missions Committee, largely consisting of RCCG members, which initially focused on West Africa. The scope of the committee was later expanded to include other parts of Africa.

As the activities of the AFRICA MISSIONS Committee increased, it was decided to give the body a corporate personality so that the organization is recognized as a legal entity distinct from its members. Consequently, Africa Missions became registered as a faith-based not-for-profit organization in the name AFRICA MISSIONS (CHRISTIAN) ORGANIZATION committed to addressing the plight of the less privileged in Africa through sustainable community development programs and poverty reduction initiatives.

There are currently 27 Chapters of the organization spread across countries in Europe, Canada, the United States of America, and Nigeria, and one Branch in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria. The Chapters have the responsibility to raise funds and execute projects that will improve the quality of lives of people living in Africa. There are plans to increase the number of people living in Africa and around the world.

With many strong Chapters across the world operating in 55 countries in Africa, it became necessary to adopt a new corporate name to reflect the global reach and nature of the organization. Consequently, the organization’s name was changed to AFRICA MISSIONS GLOBAL with a constituted Board of Trustees who help to formulate the policies and strategies that guide the organization and supervise the people who implement our projects.

In addition, vulnerable widows have been empowered with vocational skills, and epidemic relief had been provided for victims of Ebola in West Africa and food aid for many internally displaced persons in Nigeria.
