In order to rise above poverty level in some of the developing countries, and have a fulfilling and purposeful life, people need to be empowered. Empowerment brings liberation. The empowerment process involved establishing vocational centres where practical skills were given to the residents of the community. Within these centres, capacity building and proper training on skills acquisition was given. On completion of the trainings, some of the participants were empowered with equipment.  In the last decade, empowerment initiative projects were initiated and completed in 18 different locations.
