The Gambia – What if every student in Africa had a guide to help them navigate their future? On November 15, 2025, that vision became a reality for students in The Gambia as Africa Missions Global (AMG) launched the AMGPath Virtual Career Counselor—a groundbreaking AI application designed to empower students to make informed, confident decisions about their career paths.
The historic launch at the Dauda Jawara International Conference Centre brought together a nation’s leadership and a global mission. The event was graced by the presence of Her Excellency, the Vice President of The Gambia and key ministers, alongside the leadership of Africa Missions Global, representing the vision of its founder, Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye.
The message from the event was clear: this is about building the future together.
Bridging Education and Livelihood
In her goodwill message, Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye called the app “a beacon of hope bridging the gap between education and livelihood.” She emphasized that this launch is a core part of AMG’s Horizon 2033 vision, a “bold and timely step towards transforming the future of education and employability in Africa.”
This sentiment was echoed by The Gambia’s Vice President, whose speech, delivered by the Minister for Defence, Honourable Baboucar Ismaila Joof, centered on the theme “Building Our Future Together.” He stressed the critical need to position the youth not as passive beneficiaries, but as the very “architects and drivers of progress.”
The app is a direct response to this call. Dr. Fola Ojuola, the technical partner for the app’s development, explained how the AI functions as a personal mentor, guiding students to understand their strengths and the opportunities ahead, preparing them for the world of work.
This launch is more than a technological achievement; it is a testament to partnership and local commitment. Dr. Sesan Akinnawo, AMG’s Regional Coordinator for The Gambia, reaffirmed that this initiative, developed with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, is part of a sustained effort to meet local needs through global faith-inspired action.
